Scandic Destination Nordkapp includes Scandic Bryggen, a small intimate boutique hotel; Scandic Honningsvåg, a well-known landmark in Norway’s northernmost town; Scandic Nordkapp, a unique hotel in the middle of nature; and Nordkapphallen, the visitor center at the very top of Europe – the North Cape Plateau.
Nordkapphallen is looking for a new Assistant Gift Shop Manager to join our team. Our Gift Shop is one of Norway's largest and has a large variety of high quality gifts and souvenirs for our visitors to bring with them as a special memory or for their friends and family back home. As Assistant Gift Shop Manager your role is to deliver a pleasant experience for our visitors and ensuring the daily operation of the department in the absence of the Gift Shop Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing an follow-up of daily routines and procedures
- Training new team members
- Ensure the quality of the daily operations as well as supporting the team
- Customer service and helping the guests find what they are looking for
- Sales and upselling
- Cashier and credit handling
- Ensure good communication within the team and between other departments
- Other administrative tasks
As Assistant Gift Shop Manager you will be a primary support for the Gift Shop Manager and work very closely with the warehouse department, ensuring that the shop is well stocked and all employees follow daily routines and procedures.
Because Scandic Destination Nordkapp welcomes visitors and team members from all over the world, all our team members must speak and write English. Skills in any Scandinavian language are appreciated. Please note any additional language skills in your application.
Other experience we hope you will share with us:
- Minimum high school education
- Previous experience from a similar role or experience from the industry
- Good computer skills
- Experience working with POS systems is preferable
- Driver's license class B is preferable

This is a fulltime position with startup Q3 2025.
The position is primarily in customer service, with some administrative tasks. The position involves work on daytime, evening, weekends and public holidays according to posted roster. Hourly salary and compensation is base on the collective agreement Riksavtalen for Hotell og Restaurant (LO/NHO) and an addition for extra responsibilities. The company can assist in arranging housing for a startup period.
