About the Unit
As members of a central global function within the Yara group, our lawyers are an integral part of the group’s varied international activities. Yara offers driven and commercially-minded lawyers broad and complex professional challenges, and the opportunity to contribute to strategically important negotiations and decision-making processes. This includes actively supporting Yara’s ambition to deliver sustainable food solutions and enable a hydrogen economy.
We are seeking two lawyers with at least three years of experience practicing law. Lawyers with additional years of experience are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a key legal contact for large and complex commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, dispute resolution, and infrastructure projects. There will also be an opportunity to develop a focused area of specialization in a specific legal discipline or business area if that is of interest to the candidate.
The lawyer will be a member of the global Yara corporate legal department.
One position will be based in Brussles, and one position will be based in Oslo.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of issues involving several legal systems.
- Actively participate in various types of commercial negotiations.
- Engage directly with internal clients and actively develop a personalized portfolio of legal work.
- Identify and proactively manage legal risks within the specified project portfolio.
- Work with the business and external counsel to respond to changes in regulatory requirements, including those related to competition law, sanctions compliance and the EU’s Taxonomy Regulations.
- Assist with dispute resolution.
- Work with internal clients, external counsel, and other members of the Yara Legal team to develop templates, checklists, and guidance for best practices.
- Prepare and present legal training materials.
- Contribute to the general activities of the Yara Legal department.
Profile
- Preferably a Master of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong integrity and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Solution-driven with a commercial mindset.
- Results-oriented with a structured approach.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Desire to continuously improve professional competence.
- One of the positions will preferably be filled by a candidate with a significant level of competition law expertise.
- Genuine interest in contributing to the collegial environment that Yara’s global legal team has developed over several years
