Since their start, Bislab has been challenging and transforming credit scoring and financial risk detection with their intuitive decision-making tools in the Nordics. Now, they are seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to lead and shape the way users experience these innovative products.
This role is not just about coding, it is about owning the entire frontend journey. You will have genuine ownership of the frontend ecosystem, from defining the user experience and visual design strategy to architecting robust, scalable components. If you thrive on creating sophisticated yet intuitive user experiences and want your decisions to directly impact professional users, this role is built for you.
🚀 What you will be doing
You will define what modern frontend means, using the right tools and architecture to build clean, fast, and scalable interfaces for complex, data-heavy products. There is no legacy holding you back, but high standards in both code and user experience are expected.
This is a hands-on role where you will shape how our products look, feel, and function, and play a key part in making complex things clear and usable.
Your Mission:
- Design and build high-quality user interfaces that simplify complex data and empower effective decision-making.
- Take full ownership of UX/UI design, ensuring cohesive, visually appealing, and responsive experiences.
- Collaborate closely with product management and backend developers to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
- Define and maintain a scalable frontend architecture, ensuring the quality and sustainability of our systems.
- Make complex things easy to understand and help define how we build frontend going forward.
🎯 Who are we looking for?
You are an exceptional and experienced Frontend Engineer or Developer who enjoys creating user-focused solutions. You combine technical expertise with a keen eye for design and UX. You thrive on responsibility, value quality over shortcuts, and enjoy autonomy in an environment that prioritises impact over bureaucracy.
To thrive in this role, we believe you:
- Have strong hands-on experience with modern frameworks and tools like React, TypeScript, Vue, Angular,… (We do not really care which one as long as you are brilliant)
- Deeply care about UX/UI design and are able to apply your skills.
- Are proactive, thrive in ownership roles, and can confidently drive projects from concept to completion.
- Enjoy collaborative environments and effectively communicate your ideas to technical and non-technical teammates.
- Want to build meaningful, high-impact products.
💡 Why Bislab?
Bislab is not a massive company with 15 layers of management. And they are not early-stage chaos either. Bislab is a fast-growing, profitable scale-up with real customers, real revenue, and high standards.
They are building advanced API-based tools for credit scoring and financial risk detection, which are in use by companies that make big decisions every day. You will get to work with real data, critical infrastructure, and products that directly affect how businesses operate.
At Bislab, you will get:
- Ownership from day one – and the trust to shape how we build.
- A tight-knit, senior team with zero tolerance for fluff or busywork.
- Real engineering challenges in a data-rich domain.
- The opportunity to work end-to-end, from concept to production.
- An office in the heart of Oslo – and the space to focus while you’re there.
- A culture where clarity beats process, and the best idea wins – whether it comes from a junior or the CEO.
Work in small teams with short loops between idea and execution. Engineers talk directly with product, leadership, and even customers when needed. There is no hand-off culture here. You will be involved early, and your input will shape what we build.
If you see something broken, we expect you to speak up. If you see a better way, we want you to lead it. This is not a place to hide, but it is a great place to build.
