As our RAD Officer, you’ll be the guardian of our people and processes!

We’ve partnered with The Assessment Company to lead our recruitment process-and we’re looking for a dedicated RAD Officer to lead and enforce our radiation safety program from design to daily operations. The right candidate will ensure that we-from design through operation-meets the required national and international safety standards. If you thrive on regulatory leadership, hands-on collaboration with engineers and other key resources, and building world-class HSE programs, read on.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Be Our Key Regulatory Contact
Manage all interactions with the Norwegian and international Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authorities, DSA, IAEA and other relevant authorities to ensure our “license to operate” to safeguard personnel and environment.

Handle Permits
Obtain and renew permits for importing, handling, and exporting radioactive materials.

Shape Plant Design
Join engineering reviews of the TPP and processing areas to make sure every plan meets safety and environmental requirements.

Build Our Safety Program
Create and run a clear, easy-to-follow compliant radiation-protection plan-covering policies, training, monitoring, and emergency steps.

Keep Everyone Compliant
Track staff dosimetry, lead safety training, and prepare regular reports for the DSA.

To succeed and thrive in the role, you will need

Education: PhD or MSc in Radiochemistry or Physics

Experience:
Hands-on radiation-safety work in laboratories, medical-isotope plant, or similar setting.

Proven track record of securing and managing DSA/IAEA licenses.

Skills:
Strong leadership and teamwork-able to guide engineers, operators, and regulators.

Highly organized, with the ability to simplify complex regulations into clear, actionable procedures.

Ability to communicate radiation risks and procedures clearly to non-expert audiences.

Clear communicator in English, both spoken and written.
