As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our core systems infrastructure, ensuring stability, scalability, and security. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Systems Architect and other System Engineers to ensure the environment is secure, resilient, and operating efficiently. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy new technologies, optimize systems performance, and troubleshoot issues across the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support our Windows and Linux servers, storage, and network systems
- Monitor system performance, ensure availability and reliability of IT services.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups according to best practices.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex technical issues.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and updates.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Very good experience with virtualization technologies (MS Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus.
