About The Oslo Center: The Oslo Center is dedicated to promoting peace, democracy, and human rights globally. We work closely with national and international institutions and organizations to foster dialogue, understanding, and cooperation. Our mission is to support democratic governance and human rights through advocacy, capacity building, and partnerships.

Position Overview: The Oslo Center is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the Center. This role requires a strong leader with a deep commitment to our mission and the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.

This is a full-time position, offered on an initial three-year renewable contract, with a six-month probationary period. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization.
• Oversee the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that align with the Center's mission and goals.
• Manage the organization's financial health, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.
• Represent The Oslo Center at national and international forums, conferences, and events.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of dedicated professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a non-profit or similar organization.
• Strong understanding of international relations, human rights, and democratic governance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally is essential.
• Deep understanding of democratic systems, electoral processes, and democratic institution-building is required.
• Experience working in or with partners in developing countries is highly desirable.
• Candidates must have the legal right to work in either Norway or Switzerland or be eligible to obtain a work visa.
• Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration) is preferred.
