Responsibilities:
Provide a leading role for an engineering team on a day-to-day basis through a supervisory capacity and ensure the engineering team members fully understand their roles, responsibilities and key performance indicators. Lead the team effectively by:
- Fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture
- Provide Constructive feedback regularly
- Constructively manage performance and/or behavior related issues
- Support professional development, identify skills gaps and support training/upskilling
- Lead by example
Deal with day-to-day Engineering personnel, applications engineering issues and processes and provide a source of technical expertise to the business, colleagues and customers, as required.
Provide support for all realted parties (e.g. Management, Operations, Manufacturing and Quality Acceptance and Control) with regards to technical expertise.
Initiate and develop feasible, cost effective and reliable mechanical designs from concept through to production that meet customer requirements and Company objectives.
Looks beyond exisiting methodologies and their own discipline to define and resolve highly complex problems.
Working with the engineering management, outline the development needs of higher performing Engineers in the Engineering Department and mentor them for further development within the Company
Significantly contributes to the development of the innovative products and processes.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of practical engineering experience preferably in the Energy Sector.
- BSME or equivalent required. Master’s degree, Professional or Chartered Engineering Licensed preferred.
- Highly Knowledgeable of Connector’s group products and services is preferred.
- Regarded as global technical resource and/or as unique, technical go-to person within a broader organizational unit
- Working knowledge of various industry codes, including ASME Sec VIII and API preferred
- Strong analytical abilities. Good working knowledge of Mathcad is preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of ANSYS non-linear analysis and ADPL script.
- Leadership skills.
