On behalf of Golar LNG, we are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Senior Data Analyst to lead the development and management of the Power BI reporting ecosystem. This role will work in close collaboration with the Data Engineer, who manages the data warehouse infrastructure, ensuring high-quality data is transformed into accessible, reliable, and actionable insights.
The Senior Data Analyst will take ownership of the Power BI models, dashboards, and analytical reporting, drive self-service BI adoption across the organization, and serve as a strategic partner to key business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of robust and scalable Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Serve as the primary interface between business units and the analytics team, translating requirements into effective data visualizations and insights
- Collaborate with the Data Engineer to ensure the underlying data architecture meets analysis and reporting needs
- Own the Power BI environment governance: manage datasets, report publishing standards, version control, and data security
- Define and promote best practices for Power BI design, modeling, and performance optimization
- Drive self-service BI adoption, enabling power users through training, documentation, and support
- Conduct ad hoc and strategic analysis, delivering insights to support key business initiatives and executive decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics or BI roles

Advanced skills in:
Power BI
DAX and Power Query (M)
Data modeling principles (star/snowflake schemas, calculated columns/measures) - Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases; ability to work with data engineers and interpret source systems
- Experience managing a production Power BI environment, including report lifecycle and access controls
- Strong business mindset and the ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Data Lake) or Microsoft Fabric
- Familiarity with Power Automate for workflow and alerting
- Understanding of data governance, KPI standardization, and metadata management
- Prior experience mentoring team members or leading small analytics teams
- Experience working with Spark using Python or SQL
