These include programs of critical national importance in defense, transport, water, clean energy, environmental clean-up, international development and disaster recovery, as well as the shaping of many of the world’s major cities.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Program Management to lead a major clean energy infrastructure initiative. This role will oversee a multi-billion-dollar program with high strategic value, execution complexity, and public visibility. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure delivery excellence across the program lifecycle.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and deliver one of the most significant clean energy programs in North America. The role involves deep collaboration with public utilities, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders to drive integrated planning, risk management, and innovation.
Whilst the nature of program management requires an element of flexibility on location, your initial role will involve leading on a key strategic clean energy program based in Quebec, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large-scale, multi-phase, complex infrastructure program with significant strategic importance.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery.
- Champion ethical, inclusive, and safe working practices.
- Drive innovation in program management methodologies and digital delivery.
- Build and lead a high-performing integrated delivery team.
- Identify and mitigate high-risk areas to ensure program success.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies and workforce planning.
- Ensure financial performance and value-for-money outcomes.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or project management.
- 12+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and ideally hydroelectric programs, including 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-value programs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consensus-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set long-term strategies and manage interdependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMI-PgMP, APM-RPP or CMAA-CCM Certification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential
- Preferred Professional Engineering License / Chartered status or equivalent may be required for certain roles.
- Able to develop strong relationships and manage all client stakeholders (internal and external).
- Demonstrates exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.
- Able to build consensus to change program strategy in challenging situations.
