Welcoming you to the team
The Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway, USA, France and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the projects.
Project Purchasing (35+ purchasers) is divided into 6 purchasing teams (France, UK, Northern Europe/Asia, Mediterranean, US and Transversal) each led by a team lead for each of Nexans G&T project portfolio. This position will report to the Team Lead for France.
Getting a flying start
To succeed as Senior Project Purchaser you have minimum 4 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain with proven records of fruitful negotiations or commercial achievements. Project purchasing experience is preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential to ensure good information flow across different discipline. You are an organized team player able to coordinate many stakeholders and keep good track of discussions.
How you make an impact
You will support the projects on all purchasing related tasks, you will prepare and evaluate offer to be presented and discussed with tender/project team. During Project execution, ensure high quality delivery, efficient project execution and minimum variations and claims by close follow up of internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts and deliveries. Ensure good coordination with all tender & project teams; establish and maintain Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards; provide necessary inputs to the monthly reporting. You will be an active and visible contributor in the project to satisfy internal and external customers
You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.
Your starting point when you join
- Fluent in English; Norwegian and/or French are a plus
- Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain with proven records of fruitful negotiations or commercial achievements. Project purchasing experience is preferred
- Experience from international negotiations
- Experience from any of the following industries: oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, construction
- Experience with SAP, BI & Ariba is an advantage
- Team player / Organized / Ability to coordinate many stakeholders and keep good track of discussions
- Proactive, efficient and able to achieve results
- High working capacity and ability to multitask
- Well-structured and executing tasks in an orderly and systematic manner
- Good interpersonal communication skills
