Are you passionate about turning research into real business impact? At dentsu Norway, we’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Strategic Research Advisor who can transform data into actionable insights that fuel growth for some of the most exciting brands in the market.
About the Role
As a Senior Strategic Research Advisor, you’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between data and decision-making. Working closely with our Head of Research, client teams, and specialists across media, strategy, and creative, you’ll ensure that insights are embedded in everything from marketing strategies to commercial decisions.
What You’ll Do
Identify new business opportunities through research and support the development of growth strategies. You have the ability to turn a client meeting into a requirement elicitation opportunity. You bring new and innovative ideas to what research can mean and want to stretch the bounds of conventional agency research offerings.
You understand what a good insights toolbox looks like for agency clients, and you are excited about building more research products and services to bring more nuanced and granular insights to clients.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate insights into broader client solutions and incorporate more insights into client offers in a way that makes sense for them and will help them measure success in their media and brand strategies.
Translate research into clear, commercially relevant insights that inform marketing, product, pricing, and growth strategies. You will develop actionable recommendations that optimize brand positioning, campaigns, media investments, and customer experiences.
Present findings in client meetings and workshops, guiding discussions toward strategic outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
Commercial acumen and a proactive, curious mindset. You have experience managing and building client relationships, building a CRM, and using automation and technology whenever possible to optimize workflows.
Strong understanding of marketing, media, and commercial strategy. You can turn data insights into strategic recommendations for clients. You are eager to learn about their particular needs, challenges, and goals, and will tailor your suggestions based on this knowledge.
Proven experience turning research into business results. You can advise clients and client leads on strategic insights based on data. You can turn data into stories, and you know how to convey these stories to a varied audience of stakeholders with different areas of expertise and professional backgrounds.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, you must have an undeniable executive presence, natural confidence, and the technical data analysis acumen to match.
Experience working cross-functionally with strategy, media, product, and marketing teams. You can multitask and wear many hats at the same time, knowing your guiding principle is to grow the research department at dentsu, always looking for opportunities to fit new insights work and products into the client portfolio.
Familiarity with advanced research methods (e.g., segmentation, pricing, MaxDiff, conjoint) is a plus.
Fluency in English (Norwegian is a plus)
Who you are:
Breathe sales and closes deals with ease—you’re always on the hunt for your next win. You have at least 5 years of experience in sales/ client management in creative/ agency roles.
Bring proven experience selling research services (or comparable agency offerings), understand the insights-buying cycle, and arrive day one ready to tap into your network, meet your new clients and stakeholders, and understand what it takes to commercialize insights for clients.
You genuinely love networking and building connections with people: you build rapport effortlessly in client meetings, at industry events, and even in hallway chats.
You know how to build relationships with clients, client leads, and other internal stakeholders.
You have an undeniable executive presence—your genuine enthusiasm and warm confidence put prospects at ease and keep them leaning in.
You command attention: Whether you’re presenting to C-suite executives or having a casual coffee chat, you know how to make an impression on clients, construct a captivating elevator pitch, and turn any social or professional networking opportunity as a chance to close a new deal.
