Technical Superintendent LPG - Oslo
In order to support our vision to be Best on Water with cleaner energy, BW LPG is looking for a highly motivated Technical Superintendent to join our team. Imagine being the dynamic force behind the management of the world's largest LGIP-propelled fleet. The right individual will not only participate but will take the lead in technically steering these state-of-the-art vessels. This is more than a role; it's an opportunity to be at the forefront of maritime innovation, guiding the course of the most technologically advanced LPG tanker in the world.
As a Technical Superintendent you will be responsible for all aspects of technical management for assigned vessels in order to contribute to a safe, reliable and cost-effective operation.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and adhere to the company’s vision of zero harm.
- Manage day-to-day technical operation and performance of assigned vessels to ensure that applicable requirements to safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental performance are met.
- Develop, monitor and control running cost budgets to meet goals and KPI’s.
- Identify areas for improvements and modifications, evaluate and improve vessel performance.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory, class and other third-party requirements.
- Supervise and report repairs and modifications.
- Manage all phases of the dry-docking process from initial planning to completion.
- Contribute to improved learning transfer across the fleets.
- Ensure that all activities, also by third parties engaged, comply with set HSEQ standards.
- Visit assigned vessels regularly.
- Conduct appraisals of onboard ship management team.
- Monitor guarantee defects and claims and ensure repairs are closed out and reported.
Qualifications:
- Sailing experience (Chief Engineer/Second Engineer preferably) or higher technical education within relevant field (BSc/MSc).
- Technical skills related to ship operation and repairs.
- Gas / LPG competence/experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Experience as Technical Superintendent, or similar, is an advantage.
- Right candidates with background from classification societies, marine equipment suppliers, shipyards or maritime consultants will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
- Good command of English.
- Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway
