The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking an experienced Market Analysis Adviser
This role supports the implementation of NRC’s 23-month ECHO-funded project, “Transforming Humanitarian Supply Chain – Market Analysis.” This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of humanitarian actors to use market analysis for effective cash preparedness, localisation of procurement, and evidence-based program design.
As part of the Global Supply Chain Unit, the Market Analysis Advisor will work closely with the Project Coordinator and play a pivotal role in advancing market analysis - focused on informing both cash and voucher assistance (CVA) and tactical supply chain planning. They will lead the development and delivery of open virtual trainings, a Training of Trainers (ToT) program, and technical support across NRC and sector partners on market analysis implementation and on how to use findings to improve programme design. They will also promote sector-wide learning and foster coordination among key humanitarian actors.

What you will do:
Facilitate capacity building and trainings
- Deliver NRC’s training programme for market analysis methodologies “Stoplight” and “Multi-sector market assessment toolkit,” and maintain a capacity building plan.
- Deliver training of trainers (ToT) programme targeting focal points from various organisations.
- Mentor and follow up with participants who have graduated from the ToT programme to reinforce learning and create a community of practice.
Monitoring, evaluation and improvement
- Assess capacity building effectiveness and make changes as relevant to enhance outcomes.
- Modify changes to the capacity building trainings based on the post-training survey results, analysed by the project coordinator.
- Monitor the level of engagement with capacity building participants outside of sessions and report to the coordinator.
- Work closely with the project coordinator for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Knowledge sharing and learning
- Ensure that the findings and recommendations from capacity building sessions are shared with senior management, participating organisations, and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure effective documentation and sharing of the results of the market analysis capacity building sessions.
- Write lessons learned reports reflecting input from participants in the capacity building exercises and coordination mechanisms.
- Write reports highlighting key findings and prioritised recommendations from each market analysis implemented and shared.
- Hold virtual debriefs with stakeholders from involved organisations to share findings and recommendations for programme design.
- Contribute towards the strengthening of accountability and learning on market-based programme performance in humanitarian actions.

What you will bring:
- Professional background in a relevant field (e.g. cash- and voucher-based modalities, market analysis, market-based programming in the humanitarian sector, learning and development, organisational development)
- Ability to engage stakeholders at various organisational levels and balance their priorities
- Excellent advocacy and communication skills
- Documented results related to the responsibilities of this position
- Fluency in English is required, both written and verbal. Other languages, such as French or Spanish are desirable
- Excellent organisational skills
- High degree of service-mindedness
- Experience in successful training design, delivery, and evaluation to meet organisational requirements
- Knowledge of market analysis methodologies, such as MSMA and Stoplight methodologies for market analysis or equivalent
- Familiarity with online training methods, tools, and techniques
- Advocacy for CVA and market-based programming
What we offer:
- Duty station: Any country where NRC has an operational presence (Except Geneva & Washington DC), or through an Employer of Record (EoR) arrangement in France, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Spain, or the Netherlands.
- Contract: 10 months, fixed term, from Mid Aug 2025.
- Travel: 10%.
- Salary/benefits: grade 8 on NRC’s National salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
