The Mobile Apps team
As an Android Developer at Kahoot!, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated group of mobile developers, designers, product managers, and QA engineers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Together, we build playful and engaging native mobile apps for teachers, students, children, and professionals. Your work will empower learners worldwide and help take our game-based learning platform to the next level.
You will report to the Mobile Apps Engineering Manager, based in Oslo, Norway.
What you will do in this role:
- Craft new native apps and features for the Kahoot! platform, translating ideas into tangible things our users love.
- Specialize in native app development and work closely with the rest of the team to come up with the best solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers and incorporate their feedback.
- Collaborate with our back-end developers to help design the APIs needed to support new features and develop the matching client code.
- Work with our designers to do experiments, explore possibilities, and build prototypes.
- Contribute to implementing engaging and exciting UIs.
- Help continuously improve our development processes.
- Help ensure projects are built to meet performance, stability, security, and functional requirements.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Android development (Kotlin and Java)
- Contributed to at least one Android app available in the Google Play Store
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
